Wonderful musical instrument

This chromatic is a wonderful musical instrument. It has given me many hours of enjoyment. Get this chromatic and a good fake book (The Ultimate Fake Book, Gospel Fake Book etc) and never know a dull moment for the rest of your life.

The harmonica feels good in the hand, is quite responsive and has a very nice sound. What more could you ask for in a chromatic.
Very nice harmonica

This is a very, very nice harmonica--especially given the price. It has a smooth action for half tones. The tone production is reliable. I have basically mothballed my more expensive Hohner. I wish I had started out, as a beginner, with this instrument. Oh yes, the wood case is a nice extra. Rarely do I have such high praise for a consumer item, but this one deserves it.

Honing The Hurricane

As one new to the harmonic world, I am pretty pleased with my 16-hole chromatic. I knew what I was getting when I ordered it. However, to any new harpists out there- don't be impulsive like me and buy the one with the most holes. Although the main reason for my purchase is that the 12 and 14-holes were unavailable. Start low (10 to 12-hole, diatonic or chromatic) and build up if/when you feel like it. It's easier. As for the product, I dig it, and when I'm better (and have more bread), I will upgrade to something even cooler. For now, Hurricane and I are blowin' the wind back. If you can't find it/them on Amazon, go to Google and plug in The Instrument Store. Get yours and go play.
Hurricane 1248

Just purchased the Hurricane 1248 chromatic harmonica. As other reviewers have remarked the blow and draw notes are hard. To correct this the gaps for the reeds must be reduced by very carefully bending each reed in. I have done this with mine and it is very much improved. The general construction of this harmonica is quite good but not up to quality of Hohner or Hering . In my estimation it is the best harmonica value out there (when you regap the reeds).
